It’s a similarly tripped-out piece of spacey disco, and we like it a lot. Sei A - “Miss” This mysterious Glasgow producer was responsible for one of our favorite remixes of the year - his spaced-out reworking of Warpaint’s “Billie Holiday” - and thus we’re interested to get our hands on this new slice of his own production work. It’s pretty great - get it via Stereogum. The remix is surprisingly muscular, with a thumping kick drum and big brassy sawtooth synths.
(It’s just a shame about the whole “Money and more money is the only thing I’m after” bit - sigh.)Įl Perro del Mar - “Walk On By” (Saint Etienne remix) Some remix ideas just make perfect sense, and this collaboration definitely falls into that category - El Perro del Mar and Saint Etienne’s sounds go together like the proverbial horse and carriage, so much so that we can’t believe this hasn’t happened before now. (It also means we’re about to melt into a puddle of CMJ angst, but that’s another story.)
